Does Medicare, Medicaid, or the VA Pay for a Walk-In Tub?

Short answer: Original Medicare does not, some plans and programs might, and veterans have a narrow path with one important exclusion.

That HISA exclusion is the detail veterans get caught by. A plain soaking walk-in tub is a different thing from a jetted spa tub, but the classification is the VA’s call, so ask the local Prosthetic and Sensory Aids Service before signing a contract with jets on it.
