Welcome to Caring Village. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Caring Village mobile application, web platform, and related services (collectively, the "Service") operated by Caring Village ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Caring Village is a caregiving coordination platform that enables families and care teams to organize, communicate, and manage care for loved ones. The Service includes features such as shared calendars, task management, medication tracking, document storage, secure messaging, and AI-powered guidance.

3. Account Registration

You are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate and complete registration information
  • Maintaining the security and confidentiality of your account credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Upload content that is harmful, threatening, abusive, or otherwise objectionable
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Use the Service to transmit spam or unsolicited communications
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service

5. User Content

You retain ownership of all content you upload to the Service (documents, photos, notes, etc.). By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to store, display, and transmit that content solely to provide the Service to you and your designated village members.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload and share any content, and that it does not violate any third party's rights.

6. Subscriptions & Payments

Caring Village offers both free and premium subscription plans. Premium plans are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) and will auto-renew unless cancelled. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time from within the app.

Prices are subject to change with reasonable notice. Refunds are available within 14 days of purchase if you are not satisfied with the Service.

7. AI Assistant (Julia)

Julia is an AI-powered assistant that provides general caregiving guidance and information. Julia is not a medical professional and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult qualified healthcare providers for medical decisions. We are not liable for any actions taken based on Julia's suggestions.

8. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, code, and content (excluding user-uploaded content), is owned by Caring Village and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the Service without our written permission.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Caring Village shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure at all times. We are not responsible for the accuracy or completeness of any caregiving information provided through the Service.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases, though certain provisions of these Terms will survive.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration.
