Why Caring Village

In 2015, Mike's mother-in-law, whom he was extremely close to, was diagnosed with dementia and died within eight months. He, his wife, and their family experienced firsthand the miscommunication, legal hurdles, and general chaos that come with caring for someone so close without any prior preparation.
Two weeks to the day after she died, Mike lost his father. He had battled Parkinson's disease for years and eventually succumbed to a fall and pneumonia. Though Mike was not the primary caregiver in that situation, his family was involved regularly, and he saw how much a tool like Caring Village could have helped.
Outside Caring Village
Mike enjoys attending his grandson's Little League baseball and youth soccer games. When he is not cheering from the sidelines, he can be found boating, fishing, or on the golf course. He also enjoys travelling when he can and spending time at his home in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
